Putting You First
Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just in need of someone to talk to?
I'm here to listen. Whether you're struggling with daily challenges or facing a significant life change, counselling can provide the support and clarity you need to move forward.
I'm Hilary Carter, a qualified Integrative Counsellor based in Rugby, working with adults, couples, and young people. As a registered member of the BACP, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. My integrative approach means I tailor my methods to suit your unique needs, drawing from various therapeutic techniques to help you find solutions that work for you. I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, self-esteem problems, and work-related stress.
Counselling is a collaborative journey where we work together to understand your challenges and find ways to overcome them. It's not about giving advice, but rather helping you uncover your own strengths and solutions. Through our sessions, you may gain new perspectives, develop coping strategies, and build resilience to face life's ups and downs with more confidence.
In our work together, I'll be your partner in exploration and growth. We'll create a safe space where you can freely express yourself without fear of judgement. This collaborative approach allows us to combine your unique insights about your life with my professional expertise, leading to fresh perspectives and more effective problem-solving.
Counselling can help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, improve your relationships, and enhance your overall well-being. It's a process that empowers you to make positive changes and live a more fulfilling life.
Counselling for Adults
Life can be complex, and sometimes we need support to navigate it. I work with adults facing a range of issues, from anxiety and depression to relationship problems and work stress. Together, we'll explore your concerns and work towards positive change, helping you lead a more fulfilling life. Whether you're dealing with a specific issue or just feeling 'stuck', we'll work at your pace to develop strategies that enhance your resilience and well-being. My aim is to help you rediscover your strengths and use them to overcome life's challenges.
Couples Counselling
Relationships require care and attention. If you're facing challenges in your partnership, I provide a neutral space to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and reconnect. We'll work on understanding each other better and building a stronger, healthier relationship. I help couples address a variety of issues, including communication breakdown, trust issues, intimacy concerns, and navigating major life changes together. My goal is to help you both feel heard and understood, fostering a deeper connection and a more satisfying partnership.
Counselling for Children and Young People (5+)
Young minds need nurturing too. I offer specialised support for children and young people dealing with issues like anxiety, self-esteem, or school stress. Using age-appropriate techniques, I help them express their feelings and develop valuable coping skills for the future. My approach is tailored to each child's unique needs and developmental stage, incorporating play therapy, art, and talking therapy as appropriate. I work closely with parents to ensure a holistic approach while maintaining the child's confidentiality and trust.
My practice is based in Rugby, Warwickshire, which is conveniently accessible from Coventry, Leamington Spa, Nuneaton, Daventry, Lutterworth, and the surrounding areas. I offer counselling sessions at Aspire Health, a multi-service facility located in the heart of Rugby. Limited appointments are also available at the Sandycroft Centre in Redditch one day a week.
For your convenience, free parking is available at the car park next door to Aspire Health. When you book your appointment, I'll ask for your car registration to ensure your parking is covered. The facility is also well-served by public transport, with bus stops nearby and Rugby train station just a short walk away.
Thank you for considering HCP Counselling. Reaching out for support is a courageous step, and I'm here to help you on your journey towards better mental health and wellbeing.
Remember, your enquiry is confidential, and taking this step doesn't commit you to anything. I'm here to listen and help you decide if counselling with me is the right choice for you.
I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you on your path to healing and growth.
