About Me

Integrative Counsellor in Rugby and Online

I'm Hilary Carter, an Integrative Counsellor dedicated to providing a safe, supportive space for healing and growth. My journey into counselling was inspired by my own experiences with life's challenges, which have given me a deep understanding of the importance of compassionate support during difficult times.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from various therapeutic approaches to tailor my work to your unique needs. While my foundation is in person-centred therapy, I'm flexible in my methods, often incorporating more directive techniques like Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) when beneficial.

I work with adults, children, young people, and couples, offering support across a wide range of issues. My specialities include helping those who have experienced trauma, including survivors of rape and sexual assault, as well as individuals dealing with loss, anxiety, and depression.

My approach is rooted in the belief that everyone possesses innate strengths and the capacity to overcome even the most challenging situations. Together, we'll identify and build upon these strengths, fostering confidence and resilience in a calm, supportive environment.

I'm committed to creating a space where you can be yourself, explore your feelings without judgement, and find practical solutions to your challenges. While our work may involve serious discussions, I also value the power of small moments of connection. These can make the therapeutic process more comfortable and even uplifting at times.

My goal is to support you on your journey towards healing and personal growth. Whether you're facing a specific issue or seeking general support, I'm here to walk alongside you, offering empathy, understanding, and professional guidance every step of the way.
